Final Fantasy Haeresis XIII MMO announcement at GDC?

Square Enix have already confirmed that they will be appearing at, and taking their new engine to this years Game Developers Conference, but today it has been revealed that they will be announcing an MMO running from the “Same engine that Final Fantasy XIII uses” - the White Engine.

They will be making this announcement while speaking about the engine itself in a conference called “The Technology of Final Fantasy. FinalFantasy-XIII.net makes a point of reiterating that Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII are both still Playstation 3 exclusives as the white engine has been adapted by other parts of Square Enix and not originally developed to be multiplatform. To further confirm this, every trailer for both FFXIII and FFvXIII since the Playstation Premier had have “For Playstation 3 Only” at the end of them.

First ever Final Fantasy: Dissidia footage releasing tomorrow

Square Enix will release the first ever trailer for the PSP Final Fantasy fighter; Dissidia: Final Fantasy tomorrow at 17:00 according to Jeux-France. We’ll keep you updated if the footage gets captured.

Square Enix to have a 20th Anniversary party

Square Enix have released a press release stating that the Final Fantasy 20th Anniversary party is infact on 26th June and will commence at The PlayStation Store, Metreon.

“Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of Square Enix™ interactive entertainment products in North America, announced today that it is holding a special launch party to celebrate the 20th anniversary of FINAL FANTASY®, the global phenomenon that has shipped more than 75 million units worldwide. Held on Tuesday, June 26 at the PlayStation® Store @ Metreon, the event will commemorate 20 years of devotion, dedication and passion from the greatest fans in the gaming industry.”

Playstation 3 to get $200 [~£100 GPB] price drop?

“I thought this would amuse some of you…

So I was at Circuit City today and I overheard two employees talking about video games. The one said to the other that the store manager said the PS3 is getting a price drop at the end of the month of $200. He then went on about how they’re dropping the price because it can’t compete with the 360 and the Wii. Then they start saying how no one would buy 360’s if the PS3 was $399.”

Take that as you will. Personally I don’t believe it, how would Circuit City know before anyone else? :P

However, if we do believe this for one second… a $200 [~£100 GBP] Price drop woud put the PS3 miles ahead, i’m sure.

Final Fantasy Dissidia - Square Enix PSP Final Fantasy RPG

The before reported Square Enix patent “Dissidia” has come up again, but this time officially! Square Enix have just launched their official site for Final Fantasy Dissidia, which confirms its a Final Fantasy, but not a Final Fantasy XIII [Fabula Nova Crystallis] title. The mini site explains that more information on the new Final Fantasy title will be revealed at the Square Enix party in a couple of days. The site is found through the PSP section of the main Square-Enix[.JP] site, which points out its another Final Fantasy on PSP. Good stuff.

The Last Remenant

The latest issue of GameInformer features some brand new screenshots of the earlier patented Square Enix RPG “The Last Remenant”. This title is said to be on Next Gen consoles, assuming Multiplatform on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
