SCEE confirms Metal Gear Solid 4 / Dualsock3 / PS3 bundle
According to PSXExtreme, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe have confirmed a Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots bundle for Europe before easter. As well as MGS4 and a PS3 (not sure which version, 40GB or 60GB but since 60GB is phasing out most likely 40GB.) Sony have too apparently said that the bundle will include a Dualshock 3 (I.E SIXAXIS rumble) in the box.
“We are working on a PlayStation 3 bundle that includes Metal Gear 4 Solid and the new DualShock. We want it to hit the high street before Easter. That’s what we’re pushing for at the moment.”
Not too sure on this story being 100% true, so we’ll wait for some official word and some boxshots.

Kojima pwnz MGS4 360 Rumour
Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear and Metal Gear Solid series, had a little chat with Luke Plunkett of Kotaku.com after his Go3 address. While it didn’t reveal anything new (Just about everyone was begging for a new trailer or at least screenshot) his interview is rather interesting. A main point Luke brought up was exclusives, referencing the resent move of Devil May Cry 4 to the Xbox 360.
“Pity. So, Devil May Cry 4, going multiplatform. Thoughts? Comments? “I think it’s up to each project, and the individual producer”, he says. “If they want to take it multiplatform, they will”. I’m going somewhere with this question, and he knows exactly where that is…
“But like I said, MGS4 is aimed for the movie theatre, it’s aimed for the PS3, so the game’s scenario and graphics need this theatre-type hardware. It’s when a producer has a game that can work on the ‘DVD level’ that a game will go multiplatform”, he says. Sorry kids. Your “OMGMGS4360″ banners will have to come out another day.
Since we’ve opened up this can of worms, I may as well get his thoughts on it. Why, I ask, do you think this rumour simply refuses to go away? “Because 360 owners want it on 360, obviously”, he quips.
Moving on, I remind him of a comment he made last year comparing each of the three current consoles to “different kinds of dinner”. Did he still think that was the case, now that all three are on the market? Nope. “They’re more like a movie theatre metaphor”, he says.
“The PS3 is like the theatre, it’s a little bit high-priced but it has to be high quality as well. The 360 is a DVD, it still needs to be high quality but you need more variations, while the Wii is almost like a TV channel, because every game you have it with your family”.
I look for a funny/revealing insight into the comment, then realise he’s probably quite close to the mark. Still, by that admission, if the PS3 is Hollywood, is he feeling the heat of being the system’s first big, exclusive title? “Yes, there is pressure”, he admits, “but there is Final Fantasy XIII coming out as well, so it’s not all me!”.”
So he’s pretty much answered the exclusive question. Another exciting point he makes is:
“Still on MGS4, I ask whether this really is the end. He’s said repeatedly he wants to walk away at the end of this game, and the trailers seem to show everyone from the series getting together for one final shootout. So when MGS4 hits, will you hang up your boots? “Well, atually its really up to the users, its up to them to decide”, he offers.”
:D!
Metal Gear Solid 4 Coming to XBOX 360
“For months now, rumors have been circulating that Metal Gear Solid 4 would find its way to the Xbox 360, due to the PS3’s lackluster performance and dwindling third-party support. This is following revelations that other hotly-anticipated games and former PS3-exclusives, such as Assassin’s Creed and Devil May Cry 4, will also show up on the 360.
However, after months of rumor-mongering by various gaming sites, and even a mention in the Dec 06 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly (page 51), a source at Konami (who wishes to remain anonymous) sent us some juicy details:
“Yes, in fact, we are working on putting Metal Gear Solid 4 on the Xbox 360 and PC, which should both come out roughly 6 months after the PS3 release. However, we’ve been working with Microsoft so the 360 and PC versions will both take advantage of Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live, with such features as achievements and the ability for 360 and PC owners to play against each other in multiplayer.
I’d love to give you some more details, but this is already pushing it. We are making the big announcement July 11th at this year’s E3, so you’ll just have to wait until then. Sorry!”
Yeah, so this is clearly an april fools. :P I thought it was worth a post anyway since alot of people have started believing it. xD

David Hayter talks about Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
David Hayter speaks on his role as Solid Snake in MGS4. This is official confirmation that he will indeed play snake in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. He talks a little bit about the “soft spot for solid snake in his heart” (awww) and a little about his character in the next Metal Gear game. He explains how snake is aging and he knows this is his final mission…
He talks quite passionately about the game which I like a lot! I couldn’t here the “Snake” in his voice to begin with, and it made me sad…but you can here him there in the background, especially when he says “Metal Gear” XD His voice seems to get more and more “Snake” the longer you listen to the interview. David Hayter is such a cool guy, I cant wait for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. God, I love the quotes he makes xD “Shadow Moses?!” “Meryl?!” “A submarine?!” “Hind-D?!” XD
Next week they’ll have an interview with Kris Zimmerman, so look forward to that!
