TGS 2008: Sony Final Fantasy XIII Live Premier + Lineup
Sony’s TGS 2008 event lineup site has been updated with details on their HALL limited Live events, which are small events that take place at their booths. For the Resident Evil 5 & Final Fantasy XIII events it looks as though you’ll have to get tickets.

Final Fantasy Haeresis XIII MMO announcement at GDC?
Square Enix have already confirmed that they will be appearing at, and taking their new engine to this years Game Developers Conference, but today it has been revealed that they will be announcing an MMO running from the “Same engine that Final Fantasy XIII uses” - the White Engine.
They will be making this announcement while speaking about the engine itself in a conference called “The Technology of Final Fantasy. FinalFantasy-XIII.net makes a point of reiterating that Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII are both still Playstation 3 exclusives as the white engine has been adapted by other parts of Square Enix and not originally developed to be multiplatform. To further confirm this, every trailer for both FFXIII and FFvXIII since the Playstation Premier had have “For Playstation 3 Only” at the end of them.

The countdown to GDC and the games we want to see
So, this years Game Developers Conference is just around the corner beginning February 18th, and ending Feb 22nd, and these are the games we are hoping, no begging, to see!
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Dev: Kojima Pro | Publisher: Konami | Release: Q2 2008 | Platform: Playstation 3
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots has been playable at pretty much every major gaming related event since it’s gameplay debut at the Playstation Premier, so hopefully at GDC not only will we get a demo, a new demo or hopefully another trailer as Ryan has been promising, but perhaps we might get the solid release date as Konami said they hope to have one “Near the end of Feb”. Perhaps they will also shed some light on the 4 yet-to-be-announced characters.
Final Fantasy XIII

Ever since its debut in E3 2006, Final Fantasy XII has been looking more and more interesting, expanding what can be done on a home console and will no doubt revolutionize the RPG genre with it’s new, high speed battle system. However, Square seems very tight-lipped on the project, and apart from various screenshots and scans, they have only been releasing trailers for FFXIII once every year. It has so far been confirmed that Square Enix will attend GDC to talk about the engine powering Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII, the White Engine. Whether or not this means they will bring a trailer along is uncertain, but we definitely hope so.
Final Fantasy Versus XIII

Final Fantasy Versus XIII is in the same situation as Final Fantasy XIII — We know pretty much nothing. What we do know however, can all be found here. This game also has a slight chances of appearing because it also uses the White Engine, but this is just speculation.
Killzone 2

Information on Killzone 2 has been rather quiet since it’s gameplay debut at E3 2007. The most recent update since then was one, rather uninteresting, screenshot and a Developer stating that they might even beat their original target render. This seems like a good time to show off what their further improvements, unless they are saving it for E3 of course.
Eight Days

Sadly, nothing whatsoever has been released about Eight Days since E3 2006, however the developer has confirmed that it is still under development and has not been scrapped.
The Getaway
Dev: Sony | Publisher: Sony | Release: TBA | Platform: Playstation 3
The Getaway PS3 (Unofficial title) has, much like Eight Days, not been seen since E3 2006. The game is under development at Sony’s London Studio who have just finished and released Singstar for Playstation 3. Let’s hope this means more time is being put into the next gen installment of The Getaway. In a recent interview with Eurogamer, the developer confirmed that the game hasn’t been halted and is still being made, and the trailer shown at E3 2006 will represent in-game footage.
So there’s our major list of titles we’re really hoping to see at GDC! Will it happen? The chances of Sony answering all of our prayers are slim to none - but they’ve got to show something so let’s hope we get lucky.
And I answered, “PS3 exclusive, of course.” - Nomura on FFXIII
In this months issue of Dengeki Playstation Tetsuya Nomura has been interview in which he finally mentions Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
“Nomura says that with the help of the disc space on Blu-Ray and the Hard drive in each PS3, The evolution of Final Fantasy XII to XIII will be as big as the evolution of Final Fantasy VI to VII. He also says that Final Fantasy XIII will probably be the first game to use the full specifications of the Playstation 3. Another interesting thing he mentioned was that the airship present in Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be able to take part in airborne assaults over the world map. Hopefully we’ll see that in action soon. Finally, Dengeki also asked him once again whether the games will be Playstation 3 exclusives which he replied to with “Of course”.”
